From picard1@execpc.com Sun Dec 01 12:17:56 1996 Author's Notes: The characters of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are property of FOX and 1013 Productions, thanks to Chris Carter. I'm just taking them out for a test run. Maybe I'll give them back; then again, maybe I won't!! :) Also, the use of the lyrics from Kitaro's "Lady of Dreams" are done so within the parameters of creative allowance. In other words, I'm borrowing them, too. This is also for those of you waiting for my other stories, "Do Not Go Gently..." and "Crescendo In Blackness" to conclude...don't fear, they will, but in the meantime, enjoy... Warnings: This story is most definitely a Mulder/Scully relationship story. A near-fatal incident causes Fox Mulder's feelings for Dana evolve from sweet fantasy to undeniable reality. Also, unlike my other relationship stories, they finally consummate their feelings. The scene is not TOO graphic, unless you consider a Harlequin-like description of sex graphic. Some descriptives, however, may be unavoidable. Rated NC-17 for language and sexual situations. You'll see what I mean, but I hope you'll like it... T H E X F I L E S: "My Lady Of Dreams" By: Scott J. Hauenstein Fox Mulder had nearly lost her today. It was supposed to be a simple operation. Mulder had worked out a trade with an informant that was passing the FBI some vital information on an "Internet terrorist", a man who was using downloadable programs off of newsgroups as covers for deeply encrypted viruses that, when activated, could wipe out virtually ANY computer system, no matter how protected it was. When Mulder showed up in the predesignated place with Scully to receive the info in exchange for witness protection, no one was aware that a sniper awaited them on a building rooftop almost a half-block away. As Mulder approached the informer, he could see, very faintly, the reflection of a laser scope off of the other man's glasses. He immediately leapt forward, pushing the informant to the ground. Then, he heard Scully cry out. Mulder looked over quickly to see Scully on the ground, faced etched with pain. His stomach turned when he saw her blood on the ground below her left shoulder. He thrust himself in front of Scully, drew his gun, and fired in the general direction of the scope's origin. As he did so, agents on site ran toward the location of the gunman. Moments later, they shouted, "We got him!!" and dragged out a thin, angry looking man. The incident was over. Scully had been very lucky. She was only grazed in the shoulder. If she had been inches over to the left, the bullet would have pierced the shoulderblade, severing the artery, and killing her from rapid blood loss. She took it in remarkable stride, even chuckling with the other agents who said they couldn't wait to admire her "battle scar". Mulder didn't find it at all funny. He had been so preoccupied with getting the informant into custody and getting the evidence they needed to capture the Internet terrorist, he had not been able to protect Scully. Granted, she had come out of it with a grazing, but it could've been a lot worse. In any case, he felt in his heart that he was wrong, and nothing was changing that. When they had returned to the Bureau office, Mulder was silent. As Scully spoke to him, he remained stone-faced, not wanting to look into her beautiful eyes too long, lest he be reminded of how close he came to never looking in them again. Scully had wondered if something was wrong, but did not acknowledge it, since the business of getting the informant into a safehouse was the task at hand for them. Once it had all been arranged, Mulder grabbed his coat, muttered a quick "Bye" and made for the door. Scully called out after him, but he did not look back...he was too furious at himself and the cruelty of it all. It was for those reasons that Fox Mulder was sitting in his apartment, drinking from a bottle of cheap wine. He normally hated the stuff, but right now, he couldn't have cared less about it. He just wanted to drown it all out... How many more times am I going to be the one to put her life in jeopardy? he thought to himself as he took another swig from the small bottle. She's stuck her neck out for me so many times, and I, in my infinite stupidity, never show her any appreciation for it!! She almost died today!! I almost lost my partner, my friend, the only woman I ever... He did not complete that thought. It was too dangerous to give it consideration right now. Those feelings were capable of destroying a working relationship that has beaten the heavy odds against them for four years. Those feelings had already gotten in the way too many times, including today. On the other hand, how could he deny them? They were so strong, stronger now than ever before. He was constantly reminded whenever she entered a room....whenever she passed by, allowing the scent of her sweet perfume to drift into his nostrils and intoxicate him with sheer bliss...her beautiful eyes that seemed to convey what mere words could not...that gentle touch of her silky smooth skin... Fox Mulder was fooling himself. No one, not Phoebe, not any of the other girls he had ever thought he had feelings for, made him act this way. There was no denying it now. He was madly in love with Dana Scully. "I need another drink," Mulder slurred, belting down more of of the wine. Boy, am I drunk, he thought to himself. That wine acted fast. "Mulder?" A knock at the door. "Damn," he muttered to no one in particular. He should've known she'd come here after the way he walked out on her. She was probably pissed off, he thought to himself as he struggled to stand up from the couch. He couldn't have her here now, not when he was feeling like this. He had to send her away. "Leave me alone, Scully," Mulder called out sluggishly, his drunken condition becoming readily apparent in his voice. "Mulder, please let me in. I want to know what's going on here," Scully replied, sounding increasingly concerned. "Nothing. Please go!" Mulder yelled back. He was having more trouble keeping his emotions in check; he was getting angry now. He grabbed the remote and turned on the TV, pressing the volume button until the noise could drown her out. She continued to knock and call his name. Goddamn, she is stubborn, he thought as he flipped through the stations. Infomercial after infomercial...Mulder let his anger get the best of him as he threw the remote through the window, shattering the glass and letting cold winter air in. "MULDER!!! Let me in!!" More pounding on the door. "Damnit!!!!" Mulder was pissed off now. She was not going to let this go. He would have to confront her whether he was ready to or not. He got up slowly, turned the TV off by hand, and walked to the door. He opened it to reveal Scully scowling at him in confused anger. "Mulder, what is going on? Why wouldn't you let me in? And what was all that noise?" Scully asked. "I don't know..." Mulder replied half-heartedly as he stepped aside to let her in. She immediately noticed the window and the broken glass on the floor and pointed to it, expecting an explanation. "Violence spawned by television...it's really getting out of hand..." Mulder replied, plopping down on the couch. Scully looked at him, then at the half-empty bottle on the table next to the couch. "How much have you been drinking, Mulder?" Scully asked. "No more than your average wino," Mulder replied with a smirk on his face. Scully shook her head and sat down next to him on the couch. "What is happening to you? Please tell me...you've got me worried, Mulder." "I've got you worried?" Mulder scoffed. Come on, you jerk, lighten up on her, Mulder thought to himself. She came here because she cares about you; at least show her a little decency. "Do you realize what almost happened today?" Mulder asked Scully, turning his head to look into her eyes. "Yes, but that was to be expected. And besides, you saved his life, and now we have the evidence we-" "I'm not talking about him, Scully!" Mulder shot back. "I'm talking about you!" "Me? What about me?" "You could've died out there tonight, Scully..." Mulder said quietly, breaking his stare on her. "Mulder...I was only grazed on the arm. Last I checked, that wasn't a life threatening wound," Scully said. "If you had been a few inches to the left..." "I know, Mulder. I am a doctor, remember? But I wasn't! I got out of it all with a scratch." Scully rest her hand on Mulder's shoulders, using her fingertips to massage lightly on the skin and muscle. "We know the risks, Mulder. Those are the chances we take." Her touch was electric to him. He felt stirrings within him he had to push away. He quickly stood to break the contact, then wished he hadn't, since the sudden movement made him dizzy. "The risks are getting greater, Scully. Maybe...maybe too great." "What does that mean?" Scully looked at him quizzically. "It means that...that I don't want to lose you again." "Mulder..." "No, Scully. Let me finish. It's taken me a long time to gather the courage to finally admit this, so please let me get through it." Mulder suddenly felt very clear-headed, as if something had washed the sluggishness of being drunk away. Maybe it was the shock of the moment he had rehearsed and thought about time and again finally facing him head on. In any case, he took a deep breath and began. "It's taken me a long time to find faith in anyone. Since I lost Samantha, I felt I could never trust anyone. In some ways, I still don't....except for you. I would give my life up for you in a second if it meant saving yours. I could never ask that much of myself for anyone else. I trust you with everything I am and everything I know. "When you disappeared, I was lost. I never felt so alone in my life. Someone or something had ripped away the one thing that meant anything to me, and it became unbearable to wake up each day knowing that you were gone. I would've done anything, ANYTHING...to get you back... "I never believed that God was still watching over me until the day you came back. He had given back the most wonderful part of my life. Since then, I've probably been a bit overprotective of you, but only because I did not want to face the horror of losing you again. "You've put your job and your life on the line more times than you should have for me...and I've never had the decency to tell you how much you mean to me for it all. "Scully....Dana...I love you. I can only hope and pray you feel the same. You mean more than anything I could possibly ask for. We've taken enough risks for a thousand lifetimes. Let us take one more risk: to love each other and the rest of the world be damned." Dana was in shock. Her hands were trembling, and her heart was racing in her chest. She blinked once or twice to convince herself that all she had just heard was not just a wonderful dream. He had really said those things and meant them from the bottom of his heart. What was even more wonderful was the fact that she could now express the feelings she had kept bottled inside her for so long... "Fox...I...I don't know what to say. I'm at a loss for words." She stood up and moved close to him. "Maybe this can explain how I feel." She leaned forward and kissed him ever so gently on the lips. It was magical...just like they had both dreamed it would be. Fox pressed harder, and the kiss became more passionate. She returned that passion, ravaging him hungrily with her ruby lips. After she had run out of breath, she backed away and gasped for air. "Mulder....we shouldn't do this..." Doubt laced her voice ever so slightly. "I know....but I want you....I want you so badly..." he breathed, running his hands along the frame of her body. "I want you, too...so bad I can taste it..." She couldn't deny her feelings and desires any longer. "Then let it happen, Dana...let us happen..." Fox urged, placing gentle kisses on her neck. "Ohhhh....Fox...." Dana moaned, allowing the pleasure of his touch to overwhelm all reason. Fox suddenly broke away and said, "Wait a second. I want you to hear something." He pulled away from her embrace and walked to his stereo system, pulling a CD out from a case. He placed it in the player and set the stereo to the proper volume. "This song has always filled me with beautiful thoughts of you. I want you to experience it as I have. You are my dream come true, Dana." As the song started in a mystical synthesizer opening, he walked back to Dana, his partner and his true love, and took her in his arms. He kissed her softly and began to sway with her. The lyrics started... Save me a place in the heart of your hearts When you think of love, never forsake me Wanting and dreaming you, each time I think of you Lying naked beside you Only a Lady of Dreams, she will bring magic To sing to your heartstrings Only a Lady of Dreams come alive You are all that I desire Dana was enraptured by his very presence. For so long she had dreamed of this sweet moment, and now it was blessed reality. She wanted every minute of it to last a lifetime. Fox closed his eyes and held her close. His love, his beauty was here with him, sharing in the feelings he had been so hesitant to express. Her presence tonight was nothing short of a joyous miracle for him. As they swayed to the beautiful music, Dana reached to Fox and unbuttoned his shirt button by button. Once every button had been undone, a simple movement of the arms by him did away with the shirt. Dana leaned in and kissed his chest, taking in that musky, male smell she had come to identify as "Mulder". Fox backed away ever so slightly to make some room between them. He hastily undid the buttons on her blouse and lingered with his hands on her skin as she allowed the blouse to fall to the floor. He noticed, to his thankfulness, that the black lacy brassiere she wore fastened at the front. He slowly unhooked it and let it fall. She arched her head back and let out a sigh of ecstasy as he placed delicate kisses on each breast. "Oh...oh God, Mulder, how I want you...." Dana moaned, feeling a fire of passion burn deep within an are of her that longed for him. "Make love to me, Fox...take me into your dream and never let me awaken..." Fox needed no further coercion. He wanted her as badly as she wanted him. He broke her loving hold on him and worked off the rest of his clothes, as did she. Fox Mulder was breathless as Dana Scully stood before him, completely naked. Neither of them noticed the small, occasional gust of wind from the broken window. "My god...you are as beautiful as an angel..." Fox told her softly as he approached her. As he took her in his arms and picked her up to take her to his bedroom, the music swelled passionately... Something tells me this is love that surrounds Only a fool without wisdom can't see Blind as I am in your eyes My Lady of Dreams He gently placed her on the bed, allowing himself to trace a line with his lips from her taut stomach to her sweet mouth as he slowly climbed on top of her. His fingers danced along her skin, giving her gooseflesh and causing her to shiver in delight. "Take me.....Fox, love me as I've always dreamed you could..." she moaned softly. "God, Dana...you don't know how much I've wanted this..." Fox said breathlessly, feeling the prickly shivers of his happiness run a course through his body. He was about to make love with the woman he loved more than anything in the world, and the very thought of it made him want to shout out loud with joy. He smiled tenderly as he slid into her. As he did so, Dana inhaled deeply, arching her back and leaning forward to sit up, facing him. She wrapped her arms around him and moaned with pleasure that absolutely could not be calculated. He started with a slow, steady rhythm as he kissed her neck and chin. She ran her nails along his back, causing gooseflesh on his own skin. He whispered in her ear, in time to the words of the song still playing... Save me, save me a place in your heart Tears escpae from me when we're apart Please dream of me now My Lady of Dreams "Fox...I love you so...I don't know why I waited so long to tell you..." Dana said softly. "My life is complete in knowing how you feel, Dana..." Fox whispered. "We can love forever...nothing will stop us, my love..." "Oh, Fox..." Tears of joy ran from her eyes. Fox felt the wetness and gently wiped them away before kissing her once more. Fox began to quicken his pace as he felt urgings he had not felt in a long time stir within him. Dana moaned louder and louder with each delicious movement until the fires within her became uncontrollable. She cried out her lover's name as she allowed the waves of orgasm to crash through her body. She was wild now. She kissed him wildly and dug her nails into his back until he winced. He felt ready to explode soon; the way she was acting, he would not have much longer to go. Therefore, he met her passion with equal passion, his thrusts becoming more forceful and rapid, but not so forceful that he would hurt his lover. "Oh, God, Fox...yessssssss...." Dana hissed, feeling another explosion building within her. She could also feel him twitch inside her, so she knew they were both close to the edge. "Dana...oh, Dana...you are so beautiful tonight..." Fox moaned, nearing the point of no return. "I love you so much...be with me forever..." "Always and forever, my love...always and forever...." They simultaneously stepped over the edge of passion and love then, their bodies close together, a kiss bonding their love for all time. No one, nothing would ever come between them now. As they lay in each other's arms, holding each other close in the glow of absolute love, the song reached its coda, reiterating how Fox had always felt about his friend, his partner, and his love... My thoughts and wishes are love that surrounds Mysteries hold you and fly you away You know you are my life My Lady of Dreams "You know you are my life...my Lady of Dreams..." Fox whispered. "I love you, Dana Scully..." "I love you, Fox Mulder...always and forever." THE END So...what did you think? Be kind...it's my first attempt at XF erotica.
